Tilsia Caridad Brens was a pianist, composer, teacher, and passionate advocate for the classical music tradition. She founded and was first president of the Association of Dominican Classical Artists. In this video she plays her composition "Sollozando en Re Mayor" at the ADCA's 2008 Gala Concert, Merkin Concert Hall. She passed away the following year.
On December 17, 2010, the Association of Dominican Classical Artists inaugurated "A Celebration of Dominican Classical Composers and Musicians," at The City College of New York with a memorial concert to honor Doña Tilsia and her tremendous contributions to the cultural life of her beloved city of New York.
